First song of the year (not counting the previous post.): Out of the woods by Taylor Swift. She recently made a music video for this song and it is so good. I'm going to put it at the side so you can view it faster.

The first day of 2016, i am just going to talk about that song and music video. As a teenager, i have seen and been through a lot of different situations that others would have been through. Since primary school, i have always been obsessed with Taylor Swift and her songs. I remembered my sister's friend interviewing me about what kind of music i like and whether it has any relation to my life. Being around 11 to 12 years old, i absolutely have no idea how her songs would relate to me that much since she pretty much wrote love songs. However, as a 17 year old, i feel that the songs relates to many teenagers. They are sort of like life lessons, or love lessons. She shows what happens in a relationship, how it feels like. The excitement, the happiness, the hurt, the sadness. Breaking up may not always be a bad thing and being in a relationship may not always be a good thing.

In the music video Out of the Woods, it started with "She lost him". Break ups. There are many reasons for break ups but the common thing is that no matter the reason, people still get hurt from them. They feel sad, vulnerable and basically helpless. Just from these 3 words, i believe a lot of people can relate and that feeling appears. That "ouch" feeling or that "oh god no" feeling. This is probably followed by a lot of thinking about their past and stuff. At the beginning, the video shows her being chased by wolves. She fell down but tried her best to get back on her feet and run. It is like in a relationship, when you are at that point where you and your boyfriend/girlfriend are drifting apart or arguing a lot more. You don't want to get hurt and you try to avoid the hurt at the end of everything. In the video context, the wolves are the "hurt" from breakups and her running is the "avoiding" part. No matter how hard you try to escape, you will still get hurt in the end. If it is not meant to be then it is not. No point trying to hide that fact.

The rest of the videos shows her in different settings, in the water, in a snowstorm, in a forest fire, in the mud during a storm. In all these scenes, she drowned, she is suffering, she is in a lot of pain. This is the part of the relationship where you breakup and the hurt sets in. The most common thing people would think of is why the other party did this and what did you yourself did wrong. The regrets all set in and you start being emotional and sad and all the negative things. This goes on and on and on. You keep thinking about the same thing, you get affected by it. This is the part people hate, the part where you are just like "this sucks", the worst part of the whole thing. That moment where you think, "Breakups are the worst." However, they are not.

At the very last scene, Taylor was walking to herself and she touched her shoulder (If you didn't watch the MV it would probably sound weird.). That was the moment when she discovers herself. This is the part of the breakup that is good. You reflect on everything, you get to know more things about yourself and other people. You basically just found yourself. You start to get back on your feet and just move on with life. It is not the end. Breakups are no the end of the world. Instead of thinking negatively, wouldn't it be better to think of it as a chance to show people that you are strong? That being in a relationship has taught you a lot and you mature from it? Show people that you are still good, life is still good. Just like the last part of the music video. it shows "She lost him. But she found herself."

Other than that, i cannot believe how flawless she looks in the video. In whatever setting she looks fabulous. I am just blown away by the whole video and she looks so good in that blue dress!
